Markets answers one question: where should we play?
Grid Readiness Score
Published as the Virya Electric Grid Index 2026. It ranks and grades 86 economies on eight power-system pillars.
- Pillars: network losses and reliability, supply flexibility, component supply chains, cost of capital, regulatory resilience, equipment capability, economic growth, and manufacturing momentum.
- Grades: each economy is graded Good, Fair, or Risky on every pillar. Its rank comes from the underlying pillar scores, so economies with the same grades can rank differently. Numeric scores are not published.
- Reliability: half of the losses and reliability pillar, measured with SAIDI and SAIFI from World Bank data, with business-survey data where needed and documented overrides where a grid was badly damaged after the data was collected.
- Sources: the Energy Atlas lists, for each economy, the regulators, ministries, system operators, power exchanges, and official statistics sources behind the numbers.
Who Decides
For each of 49 countries (the EU as one bloc): the legislature that writes the primary law, the sector regulator, the system or market operator, and the energy ministry, with official links only. Refreshed with the policy library, twice a month.
Stakeholder Playbook
Four fictional personas for each of the 86 economies: a regulator or ministry official, a utility or grid operator, a developer or investor, and a major electricity buyer. They are AI-assisted assessments of general tendencies, grounded in each economy's public context, not portraits of any real person. AI can make mistakes.
